The last few days you guys may have noticed that I went on a workcation (a mini vacation but for work!) to Jekyll Island for the Better News Contest which is held yearly and various newspapers across Georgia are awarded for best sports photo, or best headline etc.
Oh and by the way, I won second place for my work website in the state. Whoot whoot! It was a nice little getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and instantly fell in love with our accommodations and especially my view.
During our stay we visited the unique Driftwood Beach, which is said to resemble a tree graveyard. Beautiful place for photos that has so much character. It was a photographers dream. My coworker pals and I couldn’t help but to get a few selfies in.
The island had a variety of food to choose from and I believe I had a fair share of it. Below you will see my shrimp quesadilla from Tortuga Jacks and my mango margarita, as well as my fried calamari and shrimp and grits from Latitude 31 located on the pier.
